When I decided to cross Ducky with Reed, it was not a decision made lightly. Ducky took after the twin oaks side of her pedigree in her working style, and had a very strong circle and fetch. I wanted to balance that with a straight walk up and strong ability to hold pressure, which Reed came by naturally. I knew from quite a young age that Teal was my puppy. The whole litter, which consisted of 4 girls, was very consistent and it was hard to keep just one. 

I am happy to report that Teal’s working style is exactly what I was trying to produce, and she may be the most talented dog I’ve bred so far. Even as a young puppy she had no trouble walking straight into heads and patiently holding pressure (or gripping a nose) to turn her stock. She also maintained that strong natural round fetch I’ve come to appreciate from Sterling.

Both Reed and Ducky are reserved with strangers, and are classic aussie property guardians. If their person is home, you are welcome to hang out. If mom is not home… you shall not pass. I was prepared to be selective in my placements of the pups with this in mind. But genetics is a fickle mistress, and all 4 puppies are very sociable and sweet, with a great off switch. Teal lays between my legs on the couch in the evenings very happily. She also loves our cats *in a nice way* and is very sweet with them.
